- Air bubble: Visible through the heel. Replicas frequently have a foggy or off-center bubble.
- Stitching: Consistent spacing, no loose threads. The suede overlay stitching is a common tell on fakes.
- Insole stamp: Nike Air branding with the correct style code for the colorway.
Air Force 1s
- Swoosh shape: The tail of the swoosh should be pointed and slightly curved. Blunt swooshes = fake.
- Toe box shape: Authentic AF1s have a rounded, bulbous toe. Fakes are often more tapered.
- Outsole circle pattern: Authentic pairs have sharp, defined circles. Fakes blur them.
Yeezys
- Boost texture: Real Boost pellets are small and slightly translucent. Fakes are larger and more uniform.
- Primeknit pattern: Should shift and stretch evenly. Fakes often show pattern misalignment at the toe.
- Size tag: Should include QR code, country of origin, and correct colorway name.
Universal Red Flags
- Price too low for what it is
- Seller cannot provide original receipt or box
- Box font looks off or label is blurry
- Glue residue or uneven adhesion on sole
- Smell — replica factories use different adhesives that have a distinct chemical smell
