The resale market moves fast. Here is what is worth buying right now and why — based on what we see moving and what holds value.
Jordan 4 Retros
The 4 is the most consistent Jordan silhouette for value right now. The construction holds up, every colorway has a different buyer base, and Nike has not over-saturated the market the way they did with the 1 in 2021–22. If you see a 4 at or near retail, you buy it.
Best value colorways: Military Black, Bred Reimagined, Thunder (2023). Avoid the budget-tier GS-only releases for resale — they do not hold.
Nike Dunks
The hype peak passed. That is actually good news if you want to wear them — prices dropped to reasonable levels. The Low Pro is still the silhouette. Stick to collaborative pairs or University colorways for anything approaching investment value.
New Balance 990v4 & 991
Made in USA series continues to perform. The 990v4 specifically is one of the best daily wearers available at any price point. New Balance keeps production intentionally limited and prices are stable. More upside than downside on almost every 99x colorway right now.
Adidas Samba
The lifestyle cycle is still going. Sambas became the AF1 of 2024. Resale is cooling but collaborative pairs (Wales Bonner, Humanrace) still carry premium. For retail shoppers, any Samba at retail is a buy.
What to Avoid
- Over-hyped GS/PS releases: Grade school pairs almost never hold value
- Fast fashion collabs: One-season relevance, no secondary market
- Futuristic silhouettes: Heavy design trends date badly
